Garden and Birdhouse Love

A little Garden love this weekend.  I saw this birdhouse at the Screen Door.  I looks like a North Carolina manison for the birds.  I won a wonderful giveaway from Sharon at My French Country Home.  Head over to Sharon's and see her beautiful style.  I was so lucky to get my own birdhouse from Virgina @ www.gardenbirdhouses.com.

I Can't wait to see little birds on mine!  This one is from her web site, click on the above picture and it will take you there!!

My sweet hubby set up my birdhouse on a post and followed Virgina's instructions perfectly.  Here it stands so elegant in my yard.

See the tiny hummingbird feeder beside it!!

I took a journey to the beautiful garden shop Thyme in a Garden in Weaverville for some fall ideas

I am going to make my pumpkin planter this week

I have a garden succlent dish myself...love.  I am going to have to do a door in my garden too

I wanted one of everything but I took home some succlents to create my own pumpkin paradise.

I took some pictures of my own yard.  We have alot of work to do but will start on that next year.  I did plant some herbs and those are doing good.

Lemon verbena is my favorite some of my other herbs just didn't like this area but I do have some touches of color left.
My succlent garden in a custom made concrete planter.  Hubby was awesome to move it with us from Florida.  It is very heavy but I just couldn't sell it or leave it behind.
It sits on it's own wrought iron stand.

Another Look at this sweet bird house, don't you just love that roof

I am loving this weather...I feel the fall coming on tomorrow will be sweater weather!!
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend, please say special prayers for my sweet friend Kathy healing from surgery, chemotherapy and radiation.  She is one of the kindest nurses I have ever known and a partner in many days and nights in the hospital and office practice caring for patients.  I have known her since the 70's and she has always been there to listen, laugh and cry.  Heal fast sweet lady.

Fall Banner

Fall is in the air and I am getting ansy for fall decorations; So this past week I was busy getting my banner together
So I anchored everything around this cool boat

Made sure the candles were there
Got my cute little pumpkin candles out

By the fire place I put my hand made pumpkins and pillows by my wine jug!

Added some flowers by my Carolina brown pottery Jug
And look what I found a sweet bird in my sweet yarn nest.
So let me give you a quick tutorial of the banner...1.  Cut your triangles out of leftover fabric, or buy your choice of fabric.  I was lucky and found some different fabrics at my favorite antique mall...The Screen Door.

2.  Get HeatNBond Ultrahold (iron-on adhesive).  It was only $3, I was able to get 10-12 triangles out of 1 pack.  Follow the directions and iron on with the paper side up.

3.  Peel the paper off

4.  Place your next fabric triangle on top and iron.  Now you have a two sided triangle, you can use muslin or leftover fabrics (handkerchiefs)
I ironed down about an inch or two to form the flap that I will use to attach to my line of twine
 5.  Then cut twine the length of the mantel or shelf
 6.  I took my pinking sheers and trimed up the sides
7.  Viola, a no sew banner.  I got my idea from Ella Claire.
