Shopping with my Little Buddy Ro

Shopping with my little Buddy

When your day starts out with MiMi I like your earrings and necklace and ends with Ro telling his parents he had a big day, all is right with my world.

We headed out to our favorite place The Screen Door.  Antiquing and reading is our thing to do today.
Reading in this charming place is so cozy

Today was a 5 book day for Ro and great book for Me
Now I love this Truck with flowers by Annie Seike

I really want a Santos

Ro decided to stage his picture, good job Buddy!!  He found some treasures and talked to so nice people.  We saw
Rhoda  Southern Hospitality.   I had just read her post this morning and entered her contest.  She was with her friends shopping around time.  So nice to meet Rhoda in person, just as sweet as her posts!

Next we went to a lovely shop Eagledove Greenhouse on Swannanoa River Rd.  It is right up the road from The Tobacco Barn and Oddfellows Antique Mall.  The Greenhouse has great plants, antiques, chickens and organic feed.   The owner was having a sale of some of her collectibles, they have the most marvelous gardens in the spring.  She was kind enough to show Ro the chickens and bunnies.

She has beautiful chickens that lay blue, green and brown eggs.  Ro found a cool rusty box and wouldn't let it go, he didn't want anyone else to have it!
Next we saw the rabbits!  So beautiful and sweet
I got this chair for free, what they didn't pay me to take it away (comments from my family)

I wanted the springs and some of the wood

I have some great ideas for the springs!
This table was only $2, I will use it as a potting table

The rocking chair $3 and the silver serving dish was my most expensive buy at $6

Love the detail and initials and of course the patina.

Such a nice day and great to meet Rhoda!

Beautiful Vintage Finds...What's a girl suppose to do?

A Beautiful Find

I am in a pickle, or oh pickle juice I've done it again...

See these beautiful designs on that creamy white?

                                                     And the edging...
                                                      The almost net appearance
See how light and airy they are?

12 panels of these beautiful curtains, do I keep them or place on etsy?
I always love the things I pick out and think oh no problem I can sell that and while I am taking pictures, I think about canopies, netting, liners....I guess we will have to vote...

This little girl says oui, oui
This little girl says wait don't you already have a set of lace curtains in the chest, and what about those silk rose pattern curtains you have...remember those.

What is a girl to do?

Collections

                                                                        Collections

I was stir crazy and needed to escape for some MiMi time.  I had been watching the grandboys and both have been sick.  I knew the medicine that would work for me~ antiquing.  I was wandering around 2 Antique shops and found beautiful inspiration in white.  My inspiration piece to work off was this gorgeous tag by  Rhonda @ http://alittlebitfrench.blogspot.com/.

She looks very beautiful on my blass bottle by my madonna ... So off I went in search of pretties, I found a great candle holder from Finland...

Candle is crooked because the floors slant forward!  It wasn't my hand...

Next find is this sweet jewlry holder

I found a vintage clock that doesn't work and love this face, I've got great plans for the case

These beautiful Madonna's just reminded me of my French blogging friends, so they came home with me.
I have a great collection of my families rosaries and medals which I cherish and place on my dresser.  The Merry Christmas Perfume Bottle is From France, My Grandpops gave it to my Nana.

So I went about placing the Madonna's around the rooms and they ended up in the front room
I added the cross and paper medals
And placed them on my wicker table
                                                                    In my secretary
Mixed with my Blue and White

I love collections and this is just a few of my treasures.
I will showcase my others throughtout the year.
This is what I woke up to this morning...snow and in the teens, minus 1 with the wind chill!!

So glad I got my Mimi time yesterday...now I have my new slipppers on with my warm socks, cozy pants and thick sweater...ahh.   I am like my niece's kitten all snuggy up~~  Di  Sharing with some wonderful ladies   Collections at http://thepolohouse.blogspot.com/

A New Year and A New Magazine

It's From France you know....

My best friend and I love all things French.  We have our favorite cabinets from our shop in Florida that we made sure made the trip to our new homes, California and North Carolina.  Cindy had a major lifestyle change and had to downsize severely.  Trying to fit her 3 bedroom house into a 1 bedroom apartment and then moving to California with her lovely daughter.  Her family and I fought over which ones to keep and which ones to sell.  In the end her daughter in town took one, I got a corner cabinet and she took 2 with her.  Oh, the things she took are fabulous, but I will let her share that!  (Cindy it's the New Year, time to start your blog.).

On to my fabulous French cabinets and accessories.  Every time Vicky gets a container from France we would be excited and say...oh it's from France!!
My cabinet made from French window, Oui, Oui

The shelf with the sweet drawer, Oh so lovely
