Hi, I'm Di from Cottage Wishes

Welcome to my blog and the wonderful party of Grown your blog that Vicki at 2 Bags Full has invited us to.

My life is a Ferris wheel since I moved to North Carolina! It is always going around and around with so many new adventures

We moved to be near our 2 daughters and their hubbies and my brother and sister in law (I call her my sister). I am in love with the benefits of all of them, my 2 neices and 3 grandboys! My other grandboy lives in Florida (he is the son of my son in law's sister) but he calls me Granon, like the rest!

I was born in Florida. And found my style from things I love. I started with a mismatch style and evolved into an eclectic style. Rachel Ashwell inspire my love of white and shabby. I love to Collect unique finds and do love shabby, chic junk!

My creating style is all over the place. I can get a creative itch and create all weekend and would call into work but couldn't do it!

This is my creative space, it is rarely this clean!

This is my favorite inspirational corner of the room and this is how it looked at Christmas. I am leaving it like that while it is cold outside!

As I was putting together my Valentine Mantel and putting away my Christmas Decoration, the thoughts of what Valentines Day meant kept playing in my mind. All the items in this setting provoke memories of lovely times. The definition of HEART means so much to me. My HEART is certainly full of emotions.

The French Mantel Clock is one my mom collected. Little did I know those many years ago it would be in my house. Her love of clocks came from her father who was a clock repair man, a clockmaker! My mom learned the trade.

The heart banner I made with my grandson, Ro, last year. The bowl of hearts with my other Atti! I love a pop of red in my deco. The wicker chairs came from my Aunt Ann, she was one of my fathers seventeen siblings. Yes, I had a great family growing up, they are all up in heaven now. So my heart is full of love for my childhood of family gatherings.

You can see the room evolution here. I painted the walls with Benjamin Moore Linen White. The fireplace with Anne Sloane White and the table with Olde White and Louis Blue. The Angel Candles and Corbels were painted with Paris Grey.

One fun game my parents thought me was HEARTS. We would play for hours. My hubby and I had so much fun playing and talking with my parents. As a matter of fact we played for hours the night I went into labor with my first baby girl. I made the sillest moves that night and my dad said I was distracted. Who knew!!

I am a compassionate leader, always have been. I feel if you treat people like you would like to be treated, you will always error to the right. You truly never know what other people are going thru.

Recipe For Love

When I saw this sign I had to have it! This is such a great recipe for everyone to follow. Get the ingredients right and simmer.

This year will be our 40th anniversary. My honey is wonderful, he loves my decorating, and lets me be as shabby as I want to be.

I love this column with it's beautiful gray chippyness. I placed it next to my white fireplace to display my newest purse find.

Isn't that beading and hardware just divine.

So art deco, victorian. My heart strings where singing over this! So glad it came home with me.

The lining is so cool. I can see a nest perched in here.

One more look at the column and purse...be still my heart.

1 Corinthians 13 4-7

Love is patient, love is kind.

Pitter Patter

I love the charm Ironstone brings and my heart goes pitter patter when I see it. Last month I found quite a haul at the estate sales.

dense, impermeable and hard enough to resist scratching

Ironstone Mold, just beautiful, it called my name and yes, I answered. It came home with me!

I don't know what kind of dish this is. Is it an asparagus dish? Whatever it is, it had me had the top, beautiful curves.

And can you say sugar, honey? Oh yes love that lid topper and handles.

This sweet tureen had to come home too!! No laddle, but that didn't stop me one bit.
