Porch Projects continue

Paint, Paint and more Paint
We had to clean the deck, I had little helpers: puppies and Paddy

Big Brother decided to help.  Oh my does it need some extra loving care.

A leap for joy we are finished and ready for Pappy to scrub it and fix the supports.  Grannon will clean and paint the chairs.  This wrought iron set is from the 60's and I found it at my favorite antique mall in Winter Park Florida.  They were blue underneath, green when I bought it and now a black.  I went to Lowes and bought a rust proof glossey black.  All this cost us $99 and alot of work!

See those cushions, I can't believe I never recovered them.  So that is on my to do list too!

Fast Forward, while I worked on the chairs, hubby painted the deck.  Mine took an hour but the porch took a day and a half.  I helped hubby the next morning and finished it off.  We moved like bent over people for the rest of the week!

Next I placed the table on the porch, the black on the deck was a great contrast.

I worked on my cushions, I had never recovered seat cushions before.  I cut my fabric (fabric I bought last year!) and use a staple gun for the first time.  What a great feeling to accomplish that.

I added my earlier project of the Rabbit Foot Fern!  I can't wait to show you the rest of the porch...more to come.
Joining these fabulous people.  Di

Summer Centerpiece

A summer centerpiece for my deck makeover was on my agenda today!  I started with a bags of shells.

I grew up in Florida and after I was married vacationed in Pawleys Island with my husband's family.  So collecting shells is something that is calming and fun.  I have lots of shells and out they came.

I had this great glass bowl and some ferns.

I started layering the shells in the bottom of the bowl and up the sides.
Next came the Rabbit's Foot Fern

Next came this sweet varigated tears

And yay a centerpiece for my table.  I can't wait to show you the deck.  I am going to share at the end of the week.  My projects to complete!

Spotlight at Junk Chic Cottage

When Kris invited me to share about myself on the spotlight at Junk Chic Cottage, I was thrilled.  I am Di from Cottage-Wishes

I started my blog when I moved to Asheville, North Carolina.  I wanted to create a blog about everything I would want in a Cottage and called it Cottage-Wishes!

My wish was to create a wonderful home to share with my grandboys, hubby, girls and their husbands.   I have been married to my wonderful hubby for 40 years.  We have been to waterfalls, parks and mountains.

Along the way I have shared my adventures around and about town.  I have tried new things from my blogging friends and learned alot about myself.  I try to encourage fun in my family.  My grandboys are keeping hubby and me young.

We have two (yes two) yorkie puppies...we just couldn't separate them and leave one behind.  They have gone from 2 pounds to 10 pounds, hopefully they will stop there.

Four sweet boys that call me Granon (Gran - non)
I love shabby chic, nordic and french style!
 I am truly blessed

I have found and copied many good ideas from my blogging friends

I have way too many collections and do like blue and white

I love to paint with Annie Sloan Chalk paint

I hope you will stop by and chat and let's share our adventures!
Thank you Kris for inviting me over!
