Fall decorating

BOO!  I am now ready for fall. It rained all week and hopefully it will now be sunshine and cool. I hope my friends in South Carolina are okay. They received the waters from the hurricane.  I found my favorite items and unpacked them for the new home. 

My gourd pumpkin is from one of my favorite shops, Cranberry Corners in Winter Park, Florida. I made the BOO banner and the Americana sign is from a fall swap last year at 

 The entryway is looking welcoming.  

I added my ladder and some of my favorite linens. The yellow/gold quilt was in my daughter's room as a child. My grandson placed the little pumpkins on the bookcase. He has a very good eye. The white bucket was my recent birthday present. 

I added one more banner.  I am so very "THANKFUL" to be steps away from our two grandboys.  

 My moms clock has a few touches of Fall to keep it company

Simply beautiful

I found some interesting and beautiful neutrals around town and in my house

Stars are shinning brightly

 The Stars were aligning when I walked into the shop and saw this display of Victorian yummiest pieces. Oh yes these came home with me

 I love this desk area

This couldn't come home with me but I am in love

 This sweet dress waits for you in my etsy shop

The patience it takes to do needle work is amazing. The stitches reflect moments of thought and motion

My lace collection is comforting and gives me thoughts of days gone by

Sounds of Life

 The sounds of dance, tapping a child's steps as they learn to create 

 Hands of exploration learning about butterfly's, the sound of joy as they tell us about their day

 Flowers of fall reflect the sounds of the garden, the rain fall, crickets and laughter of children playing outside. 

 The soft welcoming color of this gate echoes the sounds of guests and family that pass thru.

 A collection of statues of liberty, reflecting 

freedom, heritage and thankfulness

Soft colors of the mountains

The soft colors of fall crept in this weekend at my sister's house. I decided to snap a few pictures of found items we both had.   Beautiful boots from one of the great aunts. The softness of the vintage leather and the laces make my heart litter patter. 

 A riding helmet of soft velvet...yum. 

And the muted grays from a world War 1 picture, not only speaks to my senses but to my patriotic heart. 

The lounger we are working on was the perfect place for me to place my items. Of course the muted shades of the background was perfect. The fog was rolling off the mountains. 

Of course, that's why they call them the "Smokies", said my hubby.

Once I assembled everything, I moved them one by one until my eye captured the look I wanted. 

I added my finishing touches of vintage banners and was very pleased to capture a by gone era.
