Florence

When we arrived in Florence I still felt I was in a dream
We went on a day trip to the Tower of Pisa...I can't believe the beauty of the countryside

The churches

The city of life, of light and of history

I am amazed at the beauty of this city

The countryside was so beautiful, oh if we could have spent more time

The Santos, so full of wisdom

Ave Maria, Maiden mild
Oh, listen to a maiden's prayer
For thou canst hear amid the wild
'Tis thou, 'tis thou canst save amid, despair
We slumber safely till tomorrow
Though we've by man outcast reviled
Oh Maiden, see a maiden's sorrow
Oh Mother, hear a suppliant child
Ave Maria
Ave Maria gratia plena
Maria gratia plena
Maria gratia plena
Ave ave dominus, dominus tecum
The murky cavern's air so heavy
Shall breathe of balm if thou hast smiled
Oh Maiden, hear a maiden pleadin'
Oh Mother, hear a suppliant child
Ave Maria
Ave Maria
I leave you on to Roma!

More to come, Di

Oh Venice

Oh Venice, My Heart still sings for you...Hubby I went there 5 years ago and I still dream of going back.  I am going to share some sights from there.

I just found images that kept filling me with joy, the color are just my style

The brick, stucco, plaster, balconys are calling to me
The carvings are so beautiful, the amount of work and art that went into these just fill me with joy!

I even found a window with beautiful curtains

The sights and sounds in Venice still make me smile!  So many images and unique architectural accents
The entry ways are so fun and inviting...

  The walls even had faces!!

 The iron work was fantastic

Oh Momma Mia I just love Venice!

Next off to Florence

Just some musings on a Saturday night....Di

Barn Sale Creating

Creating Barn Sale Goodness

The holidays sparked my creativity.  I created boards with my vintage papers.  Creating with Jeanne Oliver, I learned some of her favorite techniques.  I love creating and playing with collected papers.  These have brought back memories of fun times.

I have been collecting vintage dresses for awhile.  I decided to alter the dress with vintage fabrics, beautiful yarns and emblishments.  As I sit and stich, images and words start to appear.  Sometimes, I will add quotes, words and Bible verses.
On our summer visit to Pennsylvania, I found Civil War Buttons and Porcelain Buttons

I created the dress below for my sweet friend Sherry @ The Pink House

I will have serveral of the dresses along with my prayer flags

I make my prayer flags so they can be hung by themselfs or in groups of 2 or more.

Here is the Fall flag in my Dining Room
I can't wait to share my vintage pieces that I will be taking to the sale...that will be the next post.  Until then have a safe weekend.  It is going to be freezing here and possible snow.

Ephrata

Visit Ephrata Pennsylvania and step back into a society of German sanctuary of Conrad Beissel.  He continued his spiritual pilgrimage here in 1732. The Ephrata Cloister is a peaceful reminder of people seeking religious freedom.
It was a life of study, work and prayer.

A peaceful place to reflect how blessed we are

Hope your travels are safe. Di

Fall

Fall is in the air

We had a fall outdoor market and saw some beautiful items and then it rained

My booth was under two wonderful trees and the breeze was glorious. My hubby helped me and we had a nice morning.
My banners and prayer flags fluttered their blessings into the air. We had found the vintage drying rack on our way to Philadelphia

We really had a good time until that rain storm and then it was sunny and clear , after we packed up!
Hope your day is clear...we have a hurricane coming but should just have lots of rain in the mountains. We pray for everyone in the path. Di
