Painting Images

Creating is hard work sometimes.  I am taking an on line art class which is stretching my skills.
I was lucky to win the 2018 Paint your Heart and Soul series by Olga Furman.  Thanks Kate Thompson, http://fracturedangelics.indiemade.com/, I also won a class from her!

I want to be able to take my photos and transfer my interpretation to paint.  Right now I am working with watercolor and acrylics.  I can't wait to take what I am learning and start my masterpieces!  Beautiful waterfalls, beaches and skyscapes  are abound in the Carolina's

 My favorite subjects are my beautiful grandboys!

                                           And the mountains, the colors are so beautiful!

                                                 The fog, clouds and mist fasinate me

                                        There are so many unique places to visit and capture

 Capturing a peaceful and charming setting is always a fun way to paint

I attended one of her workshops, yes, she came to North Carolina.  I had the best time, laughed, created and made many new friends!

Favorite pieces

It has been 2 years since we moved to our new home.  When we downsized I did let go of many pieces.  I have so many special pieces in my home.  This truly has been my cottage wish come true. 

The way you style your home with your favorite furniture or accessories makes a statement that reflect you.  I grew up in Florida and anything to do with the water warms my heart.

I grew up with vintage furniture and seem to gravitate to unique pieces.  One of the pieces I use in different rooms and like to dress up is a antique cabinet.  I found this wonderful piece in Lakeland at Victoria's Warehouse.  Victoria gets crates of great furniture and finds from France.  You know, everything is better from France!!

This piece has a marble top and is accented with gold embellishments.  I have used it in the family room between chairs or as an accent piece as seen in this picture.  These wicker Charis were my aunts and I remember sitting in them, talking about family.

Accent pieces help make a statement.  It's even better when the pieces evoke a memory.  This sweet white pitcher is from my home town and was another family piece.  I walked around that lake many a day.

Back to the French cabinet...after or move to our smaller house, I have tried that piece in all my spaces.

I was on a mission to find the spot for my cabinet. It ended up by the counter top bar.

We get to share happy and sad times together. This past weekend we traveled to South Carolina coast for our lovely aunt.

She was a classic beauty 

I was so grateful for her advice and life lessons.  She taught me that life is for living and not to hold in anger and grief.

Mothers Day Thoughts

I send a shower of blessings to all moms. 

 I am a lucky lady.  I share my days with my wonderful hubby

 Have beautiful views along the way

 Take time to smell the flowers

 Create a lovey environment

 Try to stay off the ferris wheel of drama

 Spend time with loved ones

 Remember to thank those that came before me to pave the way

 Love my family

And celebrate my mom and dad

 So thankful for my home

 I treasure the memories from my childhood

 And prayfully ask for peace and love for all

 Happy Mothers day to my dear mom, grandmom and greatgrandmother.  I learned so much from all of you

 My hero, my dad

 My loving parents

 And a wish to have more Days by the beach

 And yes some eye candy for Too!
