Valentine Love

I love Wedgewood, my grandmother, Lucy, is the one that fostered my love of collecting

  

I saw this in the estate sale and it called my name...heart, blue and white and oh yes Wedgewood.

I made this blue and white teddy bear with angel wings.  It nested in my crisp white pillows

 And look what else I found...Yes, I found a beautiful coverlet for my craft room/guest room bed.  Blue and white and look how it matches my Anne Sloan painted secretary.  You would think I spent forever finding this perfect match

 In a way I did...It is so sweet and reminds me of spring time

                         Did I mention it is Pine Cone Hill

 And look a blue bird...which reminds me of my mom and dad.  We had a chirping blue bird at the card table.  Whenever someone won and started talking with their partner about the card play, we would hit the bird and it would chirp, chirp, chirp!! 

So I leave you today with a big CHIRPING HUG and Sound of JOY,

Sweetheart

I thought my mantel looked pretty good but then I saw Adlerberry Hill's post on paper hearts.  I felt my mantel needed a little touch.  I think the pop of hearts helped.  

 First I took my favorite pattern of hearts and traced a pattern and cut out hearts from a coverlet I picked up at a tag sale for $5.  The reds were perfect.

 Next, I followed Sarah's tutorial on her fluttering heart banner.  It did just take 20 minutes!

 See how sweet everything looks, the heart banner just brings that perfect touch.

 I just loved how the hearts gave that color I was needing for the room

 I found this fabric at the local Hospice Estate Sale, they had all this beautiful fabric going for half price

                      The rosy reds go with my lamp and rugs.

 I also found this beautiful heart at that estate sale...Wedgewood, this goes perfect with my collection which I will share later this week

Mantel love

Nana and Pops sweet picture I rescued out of my parents house after Nana's bedroom fire.  

 My mom's father, pops, immigrated as a baby with his big family from Prussia.  For Valentines I wanted to celebrate the loving family that blossomed from them.

 I love vintage frames and wanted to keep it simple.  I added Nana's rose bowl and boxwood toparies from Home Goods

 Next, a music sheet garland

My pops was in the Navy, he brought beautiful presents from France and China as he traveled as the ships purchaser.  During the war, my Nana saved all those precious gifts.

And to think it started with these wonderful people and many generations before
