My Favorite Lamps

Sometimes life can hand you a challenge
When we moved, nothing broke but my favorite lamp shade was ripped.  I was disappointed, I packed so carefully.  Well, it's just a shade, it will still look pretty and it means so much to me.  My best friend and mom shopped with me so many times at the shop where we got this.  It brings a happy feeling when I see it!

Here it is in all its glorious beauty

My other favorite, is it's campanion.  It sits atop my hubby's lamp

Two lovely lamps I got at my favorite mall in Winter Park are these lovely lamps of a Mrs. and Mr.

They sit on our dresser gracing us with their light.
My next favorite is this lovely lamp that my I traded with my best friend.

It sits on top of my suitcase, that yes my best friend Cindy and I got together on our last shopping trip before I left Orlando!

My last favorite light (in this room) is my crystal chandy from Spain!  Again, I found this in Winter Park at Halley's Antique Mall.

To me it just brings a great elegance to our room

Thank you all for your kind comments and support this past month!  I went with my gut and took a great job managing clinical staff in a specialty practice (right back to my roots).  It is a large practice and they are expecting great things.  I am praying I can deliver!

Bedroom Redo

Master Bedroom Project
I brought all my favorite pieces with me on our move from Florida to North Carolina
When I first saw the house, all the rooms were painted this greenish-brown.  It made the rooms seem dark.
This is the bedroom when we saw the house

The walls are still dark and the wall to wall carpet not my taste but better
I moved our bed under the two windows and added my cream but I wanted my walls cream also

I had to put 2 coast of Kilz on to cover that color.  This worked so well for me because of the Zero VOC...we had to sleep there during the process
This is with the first coat - Kilz, you can still see some of the brown showing thru

This is the after...I love the calm creamy linen color
The finished product, Benjamin Moore Linen...I am liking the calm finish...Oh and the chandy that hubby hung for me!

I turned my camera to soft setting to show the soft tones of the room.  This is the dresser that I painted last year with Anne Sloan Olde White

My reading corner with my set of suitcases that hold pictures and fabric

My cabinet filled with my favorite pictures and family quilts

More favorite bedcoverings and my side table with my favorite lamp

My dresser and favorite things

I have shown my perfume bottles before but these are from my grandmother.  The Merry Christmas bottle is the one my grandfather gave to her it is my very favorite.  I will share the story one day how it came to me.

My calm retreat in the afternoon light.  It is so nice to have this room almost finished.  Now to paint the trim and closet doors!
One more bedroom to paint... but I am so happy to have this completed.

Decisions, decisions, decisions...Oh My...

This was suppose to be easy, take a job offer and it's done.  But wait, your thoughts, prayers and kind words brought 2 great jobs.  I feel torn because I know I could do both and make a differance.
I listened to a sermon on God's promises (Dr. Charles Stanley) and know I have to claim it.  If we ask anything according to his will he will make it happen.
I am listening to his voice and know I will be guided to the right job, please continue to pray for me to listen wisely.
With overflowing thanks for support, Di
