Do you want to build a snowman

Do you want to build a Snowman?!
This is what I woke up to this morning, here in Asheville, North Carolina!  I loved it.  Being from Florida, I have wonder of this crisp blanket before me.

I captured some images around the yard and built a snowman!  The snow was creamy white and soft and fluffy.  For this Florida girl is was fun.

The flowers captured the flakes and were blanketed with a frosting of sugar snow.

As I wandered down the street the white made everything charming.  I thought of this lovely quote.

Still signs of fall mixed with the scenes of snow

Loving the rusty scale against the snow
We stayed inside afterwards and started working on some projects

My grandson and I are hooked on the movie Frozen.  I am making a button  book Winter scene.  Here is a sneak peak of what we made...not Olaf but a button snowman

I hope your weekend is fun and maybe some sun will peak your way

Vintage Wishes

A little metal work I found a one of the local shops.  This is from one person's collection and I fell in love with the simplicity of the items.
These stacks of papers are pharmacy receipts.  I admired them from a far and thought they were wood!

The iron urn in the cloche is holding a sweet little birds nest
And the apothecary jars hold secrets from days gone by.
Sometimes the simple things bring a sweet joy to us, I hope your day was good and your week is filled with sunshine.

Inspiration on a Rainy Day

I was out and about the other day and found these wonderful items.  That clock would look great in my new house but I am holding out until we actually see it built.  I so afraid I am going to get things that I won't have room for.
Do you remember this phone, my grandmother had this exact phone!  Hers even started with GA.  "One ringy dingy"!

I loved all the French script and french items

And this has won my heart, I keep visiting her to ponder should I take her home

Loving these shutters, I am looking for the right pair to go over my fireplace.

Sharing these lovely finds with some fun parties.  Have a great day!  Di

Fall Beach Time

A sweet stroll down memory lane at the beach this weekend. This sweet church, Pawleys Island Chapel, is the smallest church on Pawleys Island.  My husband's cousins daughter was married here.

This weekend another cousins daughter was married.  Both of these girls were in my daughters wedding.  I can't believe our girls are all grown up.  Funny how that happens.
My family has spent a lot of time traveling to
Pawleys.  I learned so much from them.
Their homes have always been open to us.

We have been through the tides of change with them by our side.

As our family ages we see many of our love ones pass away, reminding us of lifes' journey.  We spent some time with our aunt who has Alzhemiers.  She taught me not to take life so seriously and to let yourself have silly moments.  Like jumpling into the tide water with your clothes on!

This is The Pelican Inn, one of the orginal 1860's Island Homes

It was a gray day but it didn't stop us from enjoying the views.
Come sit a spell and breathe the salt air.  What are your favorite family moments?
