Philly Travels and roads Travelled

Have you thought of the roads that have been travelled before you. The people that made the path for you. And the lives that have touched this earth before you?      

The cobblestone paths in Philadelphia touched my soul. It was girls trip to see my daughter in Philly, my nieces and sister went with me.

My daughter walked us all over the town.  To end the day we went to one of the highest points and viewed the town.

The next day we went to Valley Forge.  The history and wonder of fighting for the freedom to establish in the states was a good lesson for the kids.  We pondered as we walked the land about the weather they had to endure.  We thought of the turmoil in our world today and prayed for dedication to freeing all.

We also found time to ...

We spent time travelling the back roads of Lancaster and loved the culture and families we saw.

  I loved our time with the back roads, the family time and the thoughts of generations paving the way for us. 

The recent events and images from 911 made me sob this past week. They also paved the way fr their families, friends and people like you and me. I want to honor their story by continued deeds of story telling, prayer of hope and words of forefathers to value freedom.

A LOVE STORY

 42 YEARS OF MARRIAGE; 2 BEAUTIFUL DAUGHTERS WITH GREAT SON-IN LAWS; 3 SWEET GRANDBOYS; 1 SWEET POODLE AND 2 ADORABLE  YORKIES

YES IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE

 IT'S AMAZING HOW TIME GOES SO QUICKLY.

 WHEN I THINK BACK TO AGE 19, I THOUGHT I KNEW SO MUCH

 NOW, I KNOW THAT LIFE IS FULL OF SURPRISES AND UNEXPECTED MOMENTS

   I HAVE FAITH THAT THE MAN I MARRIED IS THE SAME BOY I FELL IN LOVE WITH

  HE IS A MAN OF FAITH

 HE TAKES ME ON FANTASTIC JOURNEYS

 HE ENCOURAGED ME TO GET NOT 1 BUT 2 YORKIES!!

HE CELEBRATES WHEN I GET SOMETHING AND MAKES SURE TO PUT IT UP FOR ME

 HE IS THE LOVE OF MY LIFE AND NOT BAD TO LOOK AT TO BOOT!

 We have known each other since high school; dated others, were friends while working at Walt Disney World.  We talked about others we dated, he swept the streets of the kingdom while I sold ice cream in front of the castle.  And finally he asked me out...he had my heart then and now.

Garden joys

Around town this week I saw some beautiful sights. The weather has been hot with very few showered to cool us down. This beautiful scene was on a rocking chair in Black Mountain in western NC

We had our garden planned and beautiful plants are popping up. Below is a short least hydrangea

From the driveway to the fence I pine I planted blueberries and blackberries. This weekend I picked 2 big bowls. Yum

 

To get some sone ideas fir the yard I went to Black Mtn.  

On my trip to Black Mtn. I had tea at a local shop and got more ideas for the garden. I love stepping stones. I found some beautiful stones a the local stone yard

 

I want these to border my planting areas and to form walkways

I love how the Tea room used stones

 Pretty flowers along the walk ways in downtown
