Hanging Out

My buddy and I headed out to get some ideas for decorating my new spaces (hopefully in September)
This was only 45$ at The Tobacco Barn, we saw one at Habitat but have to check it out on Hubby's day off
I would love an industrial table for behind the sofa in the downstairs family room
                                                                Love the stools
Now this would really work, could put the games, cards and misc. in this!
I went ahead and bought this to paint with Anne Sloan Paint to match my bedroom set, hubby hasn't had a dresser for 4 years!!  Look 8 drawers and it comes with a beautiful big mirror $130!!
We loved this desk, I wouldn't even paint it!!

No, we didn't get this couch!
                                                              Until later, Di

Rearranging

Dining Room Arranging; Just as our lives rearrange so do our rooms.  As I continue for a new home I do come across some finds.  I sure wish our house was as easy to find as some of the fun things I have found around the city.
Out  garage selling I found this great lazy susan, just calling for some Anne Sloan paint!  This goes really great with the wood of the table, but I love some shabby chicness!! So I started subtracting and adding pieces in the small dining room just to see...
I do love roosters, baskets, yelloware and shabbiness and throw in a little french and I am good to go.

I dug out some of my favorite pieces...you see I am packing up getting ready to move to a new place, so what a great time to decide what to down size....

Love incorporating family pieces. My wire basket is my second choice for the sideboard

I love, love metal tins and this collection is one of my favorites; any thing tin and especialy with tole writing is coming home if it is affordable, this set was $15 many, many years ago
This great stove plate is just the shabby element to fix up my space on the sideboard shelf

Don't you love the details on this piece, I got this for $1 at the flea market

I have a few more elements to add and then I will be ready for the reveal.  Hopefully we will have some home news to share also!  Sharing with these great people

I have been house hunting all over Asheville, East, West, North and South.  We found a beautiful little cottage setting and were not accepted.  It broke my heart.  I could picture myself there gardening and playing with my grandkids.  My Cottage Wishes were not to be.  So my search continues...

A sweet place that has charm

A place where flowers, herbs and vegtables can grow

A setting that fosters creativity

 What about a farmhouse?

I love the cottage we are in now, flagstone terrace and walls, sunroom and plenty of views

But the search continues
for a place to hang our hats at the end of the day
A place to nuture our souls
 A place to call home
I am happy where my family and friends are near me, so my search will continue North, East, South or West.   DI
