Garden Joy

Gardening on the porch is rewarding. We decided to plant this year in containers. After researching options hubby purchased 3 Patio Pickers Patio Garden Kit.
We picked up our seedlings at the local nursery.  Thankfully, I ordered ahead and they loaded everything in the truck without contact!  For this system we used potting mix, dolomite and fertilizer.  Knowing we would not be shopping as much, we wanted fresh vegtables.

We started harvesting our leafy greens about 4-5 weeks after planting.  So good to have tender leafs.

I planted brocolli and cabbage seedlings as well.  This week I am seeing the beautiful forms of vegtables!  Can't wait to pick these.  Now on to the front porch.
We decided after the success on the back porch we decided to plant on the front porch and garden area.

Hubby ordered these and they fit perfectly on the rail.  We took onion bottoms and placed in water until spourts formed.  These were planted in one with a strawberry plant in the container.  In the order container I planted two more strawberries and some basil.  The strawberriers will trail down the railings.

Below the porch, I decided to plant tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers and herbs.  I think a fruitful flower garden is perfect this year.

I have 3 grands living right up the driveway from me.  So having veggies and fruit is perfect.
One came over to earn some pickin money.  He pick Kale, Chard and lettuce for me.  He even washed it.  He will help me with front garden later in the week!

I am thankful for having this sunshine in my life!  I am taking each day and watching the events around and can only image the grief  the family of George Floyd is facing.
Please take a moment to pray for them and other families facing loss.

Much love,
Di
